ASPRONISIA – DAZZLINGLY BEAUTIFUL
Dazzling. That is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Aspronisi. Dazzling light, dazzling beauty.
Lipsi (or Leipsoi) is a cluster of 30 islands (24 islets and 6 rocks) in the southeastern Aegean. This group of small islands, with a total area of 17.35 km², includes the islets of: Arefousa, Manolis Islets, Megalo Aspronisi, Makry Aspronisi, Mikro Aspronisi, Paploma, Kouloura A, Kouloura D, South Aspronisi A, South Aspronisi D, Megalo Kalapodi, Mikro Kalapodi, Lyra, Stavri, Pilavi, Psomou, Kaparonisi, Piato, Makronisi, Fragos, Saraki.
The Aspronisia are essentially a cluster of three rocky islets on the eastern side of Lipsi.
Towering schist cliffs, beaches of smooth white pebbles, a shallow passage between two of the islets, and crystal-clear turquoise waters — a unique sight that brings to mind exotic places.
Aspronisi, with its brilliant white pebbles reflecting the entire Aegean, is one of the most striking spots in Greece. The waters are crystal-clear, blue-green, almost unreal, perfect for diving, shimmering from the reflection on the white stones.
You can reach Aspronisia from Lipsi, but also from Leros or Patmos, either on day boats or with chartered small vessels.
